Team,
We are saddened to share that our colleague Bonnie Scranton passed away on October 11.
For over 21 years, Bonnie worked for the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. She was passionate about new web technology and how communicators could embrace the technology to better engage our teaching, research, and extension audiences. Bonnie’s team members and peers remember her ability to bond with and care for everyone and to remain in contact even after leaving the university.
Prior to her CFAES career, she and her daughter (Dawn) participated in 4-H showing horses that lead to a love of dressage to this day. She loved making buckeye necklaces and bracelets for the games. In fact, many spectators support the Buckeyes by wearing Bonnie’s jewelry.
There is a celebration of life, visitation on Monday, October 18th, from 5-7 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH 43231. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bonnie's name to the Cat Welfare Association of Central Ohio.
Bonnie leaves her husband, Darryl, of 47 years, daughter Dawn and her significant other Eric Owens. Please join us in keeping them in our thoughts and prayers.
The university’s Employee Assistance Program offers a variety of services for anyone in need. For more information on the EAP program and services, please contact Katryna Martin.2597, email eap@osumc.edu or call (800) 678-6265.
